Two days, one card
Spend two days in class and earn your OSHA 10-Hour Construction card.
- What you learn: how to recognize, avoid and prevent the common construction hazards — falls, electrocution, struck-by, and caught-in or between — plus workers' rights and employer responsibilities.
- Who teaches it: an OSHA-authorized Construction Outreach trainer, in person.
- What you leave with: students who attend the entire class and complete all class requirements receive an OSHA 10-Hour Construction student course completion card, issued by the trainer through an OSHA Training Institute Education Center.

Before you register: attendance rules
OSHA sets the rules for Outreach classes, and they are stricter than our regular CEU classes. A student who does not meet every one of them cannot receive a card.
To receive a card you must attend the entire class — both days, every topic, all 10 contact hours. There are no partial cards.
- No late arrivals. Sign in, show your ID, and be seated before then. A student who arrives after instruction has started will not be admitted. Our regular attendance policy also applies: a late arrival, or a missed class without cancelling at least 1 business day ahead, counts as a no-show.
- Stay for the whole day. Leaving early, stepping out during instruction, or skipping any topic means you have not completed the class and you will not be listed for a card.
- Sign in and out every day, with photo ID. OSHA requires the trainer to verify each student's identity. You will show government-issued photo ID and sign the attendance sheet each day, with your time in and time out recorded.
- Breaks are scheduled by the trainer. OSHA requires a 10-minute break after every two hours of instruction and a lunch break. Breaks do not count toward the 10 contact hours, so the schedule is tight — return on time.
- If you miss part of the class. You may be eligible for makeup training only if you completed at least 50% of the instructional hours in the original class. Makeup must be scheduled by the trainer and completed within 180 calendar days of the class start date. Makeup is at the trainer's discretion and is not guaranteed.
- If you are sick, stay home. Our illness policy applies. Email classes@ibew46.com so we can release your seat. A missed day is treated under the makeup rule above.
- Minimum class size. OSHA requires at least three students. If the class is cancelled for any reason, you will receive a full refund within 5 business days. If it is rescheduled and you do not confirm the new date within 10 business days of the cancellation notice, you will receive a full refund.
Getting your card
- Cards are mailed to you. They are not handed out at the end of class, because the issuing OSHA Training Institute Education Center must first process the class paperwork.
- OSHA requires the trainer to issue your card within 90 calendar days of the class end date, after the class records have been accepted.
- Give us a current home or business mailing address at registration — that is where your card will be sent. If you move before it arrives, email classes@ibew46.com.
- If your card is ever lost or damaged, contact the trainer. A replacement can be requested only within five years of the class and only once.
This class is hazard-awareness training. It does not satisfy any employer-required or apprenticeship training, and it does not meet the training requirements of any specific OSHA standard.
